Every time I’m scheduled to do my update I’m absolutely shocked and amazed to find out that it’s the end of the month. I also dread looking into the abyss of unfinished to-dos. I did a lot this month, but sadly, it doesn’t feel like I finished anything but I actually did accomplish a few things:
28. Re-purpose and repair all old clothes by May 1 – I did one thing. I think that since this is a holiday weekend, I will celebrate by sewing because it’s simply un-American not to.
61. Do a household purge, one room each month starting no later than March. – I did another room! For reals this time:
It’s not perfect, but nothing ever is. It is, however, usable and comfortable and is now our new classroom. Which leads me to:
30. Final decision on home schooling by June 1 – done!
31. Turn library/den into study/home school room – done!
I don’t consider this double dipping. #61 is only to purge items and put them away–I threw out and donated a ton of stuff. #31 is specific as to what to do with said purged room.
The Halloween Quilt is two blocks of minimal embroidery away from being done…with the top. I have the backing and the batting but I need to put it aside for a while. I have had a request to make a quilt from a good friend and it’s going to be AWESOME and I’m dying to get started on it. For the record, I’m nervous about it because I hate doing shitty work for other people and I will probably always believe that I can only produce shitty work. Other people don’t think so, but when I make something and that tiny sprout of pride comes up (wow, you’ve really improved your skills!) the giant boot of self deprecation comes down (you’ve been doing this for how many years and you still suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!) and crushes it.
On the other hand, fuck all that shit! I’m feeling surprisingly positive lately, more of which I will detail in a later post.
